OOOO There are so many things to love about Autumn. The crisp air that has just begun, the beautiful colors changing around us, the smells of apples, cinnamon, pumpkin, and all of that yummy goodness we get to enjoy. We are saying goodbye to summer but welcoming all of the amazing things fall has in store for us. To welcome the new season in to our house, I decided to set up an invitation to play with an amazing natural sensory experience.
This is an easy no-cook natural cinnamon play dough. Your children will want to spend hours playing with it. My children loved the smell, the feel, and really enjoyed the whole experience of it.
Set-up is easy.
It is nice to have child size kitchen utensils because it makes it much easier for children's small hands.
Are you ready for some apple pie?
I love to see those smiley faces and I also love seeing those little hands at work. All of that squishing and molding is really great for working those muscles needed for fine motor skills. Not to mention they are using all of their senses. This dough is super soft and smells delicious.
I hope you are excited to try out this recipe. We fell in love with it.
Cinnamon no-cook natural play dough
Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup salt
2 Tablespoons cream of tartar
2 Tablespoons cinnamon
3 Tablespoons oil (I use coconut oil)
Add all the ingredients together in a bowl, then slowly stir in 1 1/2 cups boiling water (adult job). Mix, let sit about 10 minutes to cool and then it's ready for play. This can be stored in an air tight container for a few weeks.
I took an extra step and added in 2 drops of cinnamon essential oil. The spicy scent from the cinnamon eos gives a warm uplifting feeling that we love.
