The Perfect Gift Guide for Children that Love Nature

Do you have a child that loves nature. Someone that loves being outside, walking, playing and exploring. My children love anything outdoors and I do too. Even the days we don't get to spend a lot of time outside we have brought things into our home for the feeling of a natural surrounding. We always have a nature table for exploring. You can look right out our windows and see birds flocking to our bird feeders and squirrels frolicking around for nuts and seeds. Montessori Pumpkin Washing Station

You are probably expecting to find a washing station for clothes, dishes, or dolls. That is not exactly what you will find. What you will find is our fun filled Montessori inspired washing station for pumpkins. We are in the midst of fall, the leaves are changing, the weather is crisp yet lovely, and the smell of apple cider and fresh pumpkin bread fills our house. So I thought the perfect activity today would be to clean our hand picked pumpkins. The children were so excited.

Here is our Pumpkin washing station. It was easy to set up. I used a couple of buckets for the water area, a few small pitchers for them to pour the water over the pumpkins, a scrubber, a couple of wash cloths and a towel for drying. 

The wonderful thing about this activity is not only does it teach great practical life skills. It gets the children involved. It shows them what goes into life, different seasons, and caring for the environment.

If you have multiple children then they can help each other and work together.

Best Toys for Teaching Toddlers Through Play

I've been sharing a lot on toddler and preschool activities lately. I guess you could say it's always been a passion of mine. I've spent the past 20 years raising my own children and before that I helped others raise their children. So I would say I'm definitely qualified when it comes to toddlers. This is a very important time in your child's life, the perfect time to nurture their growth and development. They have an inquisitive nature which keeps everything so exciting and fun, so use this time for purposeful play.

Teaching toddlers is so much fun!

One of the many things I am passionate about is purposeful playtime with children. At the earliest stages in life, babies are growing, changing, and learning at a rapid speed. So why not maximize their potential by guiding them in a fun gentle way? With purposeful play, children are learning to share, develop better language skills, and they are also working on dexterity by holding and maneuvering their toys. Play truly is the best foundation to prepare children in early childhood for success in the future.
