Tot school Preschool Letter F

    Tot school Preschool Letter F

It has been such a great week of learning the Letter F. We have been firemen, fishermen, made funny faces, played with frogs, and even sized up everyone's feet. What a fabulous week. Come and take a peek.

This is probably the longest post that I'll ever do, I'm apologizing now, but we did so many great activities, I just had to share. Enjoy!

This was Little B's table set up on Monday. I always pick a few books out and put the little things I store in my letter bags out on the table.
His tray area consisted of a Melissa and Doug fireman set, a basket of Finger puppets, a tray of fruit for color sorting, a puzzle (fish and frogs), a wooden pull frog with a frog book, and a basket of Leap Frog froggies and a frog blanket

We made funny faces

Yes, even mommy had to get into the funny face mask. (you know you'll do anything for your child when you wear a funny face mask at 8 am before a shower and make-up, then post it online). He loved it, that's what matters most.
Even big brother got into making funny faces
We did a what floats science activity with different F things that we had, and read a Baby Einstein book called What Floats.
He loved this activity, it's always fun to play in water.
Spending time working with the letter F
Counting fish

He was very proud of his fish puzzle

Of course we had to go fishing, however it's 30 degrees outside so the bathtub becomes our ocean. It consists of Blue water, boats, a jet ski, and lot's of fish. He ended up swimming with the fish after 10 minutes of fishing. (smile)
Grow a frog(the rubber kind from the dollar store)
By the middle of the week Little B had become a fireman. He loves his fire truck Pj's, so I let him wear them all day.

Sizing everyone's feet in the family. F is for Feet, we had everyone involved in this activity.
Little B compared his feet to everyone else's.
He also put his fish in order by size.

For a snack, what better than Fish (we counted them and subtracted them while he ate)
Baby Bell enjoyed a Finger puppet show

Little B really enjoyed the puppets, it was one of his favorite things this week.

Another day I set out a tray with the word fruit on it and 15 cards with different types of food,  it was his job to pick out the fruit. This was a good activity for teaching healthy foods (nutrition).

Last but not least we spent time bird watching with our feathers.

Believe it or not I was going to do a sensory box for the weekend filled with feathers, but by Friday he was ready to move on to the next letter. I think we were both F'd out.

It was a great week of tot time learning and I am looking forward to starting letter G. I have some great surprises in store for Little B.

  3. LOVED your letter F activities, we recently passed F in working through our letters but I will have to keep this post in mind when we revisit for lower case letters.
