Child+Eggs+Watercolors=Masterpiece

I use to be "that mom" that always had arts and crafts out for the children. That thrived on little artistic masterpieces everywhere. However, for the past few months I've noticed I've been enjoying the paints locked away in our art container way to much. That's right even though I cherish the children's creative works of art, I also really enjoy a clean house. So I had to break the cycle. I just knew the Tinkerlab Creative Challenge would bring the paints out, and get the creative juices flowing again. 

I love setting up an invitation to play, and just watching everything unfold.  After all I love what Maria Montessori said in The Absorbent Mind, "The teacher when she begins work in our schools, must have a kind of faith that the child will reveal himself through work". To me, that is exactly what a child is doing with his art, he is revealing himself through his very own masterpiece.  I knew watercolors would be perfect for this child-led egg activity. Little B loves to paint, and he loves his wooden eggs so what better than to allow him to make his favorite eggs even more beautiful.  This was such a fun day of creating. It also inspired me to get those paints out more often.
